Pat McGrath makeup!

I woke up this morning to find my Instagram full of beautiful people in Paris wearing every conceivable look that could be created with one gold eyeshadow. Such a beautiful glimmering gold gold – the sort that conjures images of Cleopatra and Russian tsars – modern makeup looks created with a product emanating pure vintage decadence. On the surface, it looked like some kind of Prada show tribute flash mob from Vogue and Pat McGrath, but clicking behind the hashtags I discovered that the truth is far more exciting – it was all a beautifully choreographed teaser for the launch of Pat McGrath’s first own-label makeup product; the gold pigment which launches soon and will be on sale for 24hrs only (eek!).

I could not be more excited about this launch – Pat McGrath consistently creates my favourite catwalk beauty looks (the aforementioned Prada and last week’s Dolce & Gabbana show being my top two from the S/S16 shows so far) and so I’m anticipating wonderful things from her own range (fingers crossed that this is the start of a range…). Charlotte Tilbury has set the bar so high for makeup artists’ own lines, and I think that this has the potential to raise it even higher… I’m watching the countdown to the pigment going on sale and eagerly anticipating what comes next!

Sign up for ‘exclusive access’ (to a waiting list for the pigment, presumably…) hereΒ or check out more on US Vogue here
