For the rest of this month I am fully on stage 1 of the Hermit Plan (i.e. not spending money), but it’s payday, and there are shops, so I may have bought some things in them… Full reviews of some of these will follow, but here is the lowdown of the payday haul!
Sleek i-Lust eyeshadow palette – The Gold Standard (£7.49 at Boots). I think this is a new Christmas palette but it definitely contains shades I’ll wear all year round as I love a gold shimmery eyeshadow (partially because I am utterly rubbish at eye makeup application and gold sparkles are pretty idiot proof). It contains 4 powders, and 2 glosses), all with fashion-designer inspired names (Coco, Vivienne etc.).
Max Factor Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara (£8.99 at Boots). I used to love Max Factor mascara but haven’t worn any in ages so I thought I’d give this a try as I like the idea that it leaves your lashes feeling soft.
Revlon Gel Envy Nail Polish – Perfect Pair & Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Cherries in the Snow (£6.99 & £7.99 at Boots). I have sooo much Revlon, but I always find more that I want! I picked up the new nude Gel Envy shade ‘Perfect Pair’, and as Boots have a 3 for 2 on all makeup at the moment I added Cherries in the Snow lipstick, which I’ve wanted to add to the matching nail polish for a while – it’s a super vibrant happy colour and I love it already.
Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer – Nude Pop & Cherry Pop. These are free with Glamour magazine this month – such a good freebie (I bought two mags to get both). Both great shades, but I’m loving the Nude Pop most so far.
Jin Soon nail polish in Azurite & Debonair (£15.00 at Liberty). I love finding a new formaldehyde free nail polish brand and I was immediately in love with the Jin Soon collection which is relatively new into Liberty. From top manicurist/nail artist Jin Soon Choi, there are so many standout colours and sparkles that I think I’m going to be building up a little family of these… For now, I’ve gone for Azurite (a deep blue sparkle, I have been looking for one of these for ages!), and Debonair (a soft indigo-purple).
Superdrug B. Radiant Overnight Mask, Clearly Youthful Retexturising Glycolic Peel-off mask & Clearly Youthful Hydrating day Serum (£5.95, £4.89 & £4.89 at Superdrug). I’m still amazed at the cheap things at Superdrug! And these are cheap and on offer! (the Overnight Mask is an introductory price, and the Clearly Youthful products on BOGOF) I love anything which will make me wake up looking better, so the Overnight Mask was the first thing I picked up, but I’m more excited about the Clearly Youthful range – it promises hydration, pore reduction, blemish reduction & more, containing lots of lovely acids and all sounding too good to be true for the price – I hope that isn’t the case!
Pixi Glow Tonic (£18.00 from Pixi). I’ve finally allowed myself to buy this, I’ve used it once and I think I can already see the glow! It could just be a good skin day though, so let’s see if it continues…
Yeah, I bought a lot… but that’s it, home made soup for the rest of the month, no Pret lunches for me!
Lovely haul! I’ve meaning to buy the Pixi glow tonic for such a long time and just keep convincing myself not to for some reason. Is it worth it?

So worth it! (well, I think that’s the thing making the difference at the moment!)
