Superdrug Clearly Youthful Serum & Mask

A couple of the things I picked up at the start of this month and have been using ever since were from Superdrug’s Clearly Youthful skincare range, and I’m so impressed! The range aims to target both aging and problem skin, so it promises a lot, but I genuinely think it delivers – all products in the range are packed with active ingredients which work together to combat all sorts of things.

The first product I tried out was the Clearly Youthful Glycolic Peel-  which comes with very many claims around improving skin texture, reducing and preventing blemishes. It’s a clear peel-off mask which you leave on for 10-15 minutes of looking like you have laminated your face. Super easy to apply (although I need to remember to avoid putting it in my eyebrows!), and it does take a little while to all peel off, but feeling like you’re peeling glue off your face is particularly satisfying. The effect is immediate – clearer, fresher, brighter skin. The product does claim to have longer term benefits if used twice a week, but I can’t say that I could put any improvements down to this specifically. It’s wonderful as a quick skin pick-me-up however, so I’ll definitely be repurchasing when this is finished.

The other product I’ve been using from the Clearly Youthful range is the Hydrating Day Serum – again with claims of improving skin texture and preventing blemishes, but this time promising to also increase hydration. Serums are the product I’m probably least loyal to – I’ve tried & discarded Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, Clarins Double Serum, Aurelia Revitalise & Glow… I was originally planning to keep this as a backup for when I finished my bottle of Vichy Idealia but after taking it away with me for the weekend (Vichy serum bottles are heavy!) I haven’t stopped using it. The fragrance is exactly the same as my very first skincare product ever – a Superdrug cleanser & toner in one – and I still love it nearly 20 years later. The serum is super silky and absorbs immediately leaving skin feeling wonderful.

Superdrug Clearly Youthful Glycolic Peel & Hydrating Day Serum are both £4.89 and the range is currently Buy One Get One Free (biggest skincare bargain ever, why would you not try this?!). All products are vegan friendly & non-comedogenic. If you’re looking for them in store they’re with all of the spot fighters (Clean & Clear, Biore etc) – it took me a while to track them down when I went back to stock up (at £2.44 per serum it would be rude not to).
