Ooh I love a good sale! This year I’ve been in store and online and have picked up some beauties. I have to say that the big department stores delivered pretty much nothing for me this year which on one hand is disappointing but on the other has saved me money.
Lookfantastic. I’m super pleased with everything I ordered from here – lots of things I wanted anyway but reduced in Christmas gift sets so I either paid less or got something free for the usual price. I also got a free gift bag which was lovely – Murad, Eve Lom, Lord & Berry – very happy with that!
Ole Hendriksen Merry & Bright Duo. When I last had a facial I was recommended to try using topical vitamin C so I wanted to check out the Ole Hendriksen Truth Serum to see what effect it had. This little set contains the serum along with Pure Truth oil – I’ve started using both in the morning, serum followed by a drop of the oil in my moisturiser to replace the Nude rescue oil I usually use morning and night. It’s £14.40 in the sale – products worth £47.
This Works Sleep Plus Camera Close up & Dream Believers sets
I picked up sample sizes of This Works Deep Sleep and Sleep Plus from the Birchbox popup in Selfridges and have been really liking them so I wanted to get both (full review forthcoming…). The Sleep Plus set contains a full size Sleep Plus spray along with In Transit Camera Closeup mask, moisturiser & primer which I’ve heard really good things about so looking forward to trying it out, and the Deep Sleep set has the full size Deep Sleep spray along with Dream Cream which I think will make going to bed feel even more indulgent (seriously, I do not need something which makes me love going to bed even more than I do already). The Sleep Plus set is £28.50 (worth £55), and the Dream Believers set is no longer available from Lookfantastic but is £20 on Feel Unique (worth £34).
Rosa Pietsch – necklace.
I fell a bit in love with Rosa Pietsch’s range while working with Crafty Fox over December and decided that her Boxing Day sale was the time to treat myself. This necklace hasn’t arrived yet but I can’t wait til it does – it’s not like anything else I have and I can see it going with so many things (I’ve gone for the cream one). Her 25% sale ends today so get in there quickly! This was £19.50 (usually £26).
Fortnum & Mason
I feel a bit like the 2nd floor at Fortnum’s is a little hidden gem, especially at sales time. Battle through the ground floor tourists crowding over reduced panettone and slip upstairs for a far more relaxed experience among the beauty hall and sleepwear – I’ve consistently found some of my best sales bargains up here! (the first floor is also worth a visit for gorgeous homewares).
Oskia Micro Exfoliating Balm
Sold out on their website but still available in store (well it was a couple, of days ago anyway), this is half price, how could I resist?! £22.50 in the sale, usually £46.
Nail polishes – Guerlain La Parisienne & Kure Bazaar Caicos
Also half price, two lovely shades – La Parisienne is my perfect almost-red pink shade, and Caicos is almost Fortnum & Mason green so it had to be done (the shade ‘Nile’ is the actual colour – exclusive to Fortnum). Happy shades to see me through the January gloom! Both half price – Guerlain £9.50 down from £19 and Kure £7.50 down from £15
I was going to save these for Christmas but have decided to keep them out all year round, love them! £6 each, down from £12
The sale in store at Pixi is so good! (I might have to go back) I picked up a lip brush for £5 (normally £10), and a nail polish I’ve had my eye on for a while – in the shade summer sunset – for just £3 (normally £8). If you’re in London, go here!!
& Other Stories
I was a lot more reserved in here than I could have been… I bought a lovely little bag which I hadn’t let myself buy at full price, but snagged the last one in the sale at half price which I am very pleased with! Also (what else) another nail polish in Selvedge Midnight and body scrub in Steel Garden which I am looking forward to trying.
I only went in here to use the loo! Conveniently it’s situated right by the beauty department and even more conveniently the M&J candles I have been coveting are half price. I snapped up the only Andalusian Romance one they had in – £17 down from £35 for the larger candle. These candles are gorgeous and I love the orange blossom and jasmine scent of this one.
So with all of this and the lovely things I got for Christmas I think I’m all set for a very long time! I’d love to hear about your sales bargains!
